报告人简介:
Xiao Guang Yang received his BS, MS and PhD in Materials Sciences & Engineering in 1988, 1990 and 1995, from Zhejiang University, China. He worked as Postdoc, and Junior Researcher at the University Hawaii from 1999 - 2000, and Research Associate at the Pennsylvania State University from 2002 -2005. In 2005, Xiao Guang joined ford as a Product Engineer for HEV programs. In 2010, he became a Technical Expert in Advanced Battery Technologies in the Energy Storage and Materials Research Department, Research and Advanced Engineering at Ford Motor Company. Yang currently works on battery development, benchmark testing, model simulation and validation. He is a technical advisory member of USABC (Advanced Battery Consortium Technical Committee) since 2008.
报告内容简述:
This presentation explores simulation techniques in dealing with modeling and analysis of automotive lithium-ion batteries. During normal Li-ion battery operations, electrical, electrochemical, chemical, mass transport, and thermal phenomena take place in parallel. These multi-discipline concurrent processes have been extensively simulated in simplified batteries with spherical electrode particles and relatively simple electrode designs. Field study indicated that actual performance of battery is closely related to battery chemistries, but also electrodes, current collecting tabs, the form of electrode cores, and other design factors. The talk will apply a three-dimensional multi-physics modeling tool to simulate large Li-ion batteries with key forms (i.e., cylindrical type, stacked electrode pouch, or flat wound electrode prismatic type) in individual and module configurations. Model simulation will be exemplified in the case of flat wound power HEV batteries. Future Li-ion modeling work will be briefed.
