Dr. Kazuo Shinozaki is a Professor of the School of Materials and Chemical Technology, Tokyo Institute of Technology. He received a B.S. in Materials Science in 1976, a M.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1978, and a Doctor of Engineering in Materials Science in 1981 both from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. After holding a post-doctoral position at Tokyo Institute of Technology, he joined Toshiba Corp. from 1982 to 1986. In Metals & Ceramics Laboratory of the Toshiba R. & D. Center, he studied the development of aluminum-nitride ceramic substrate, structural silicon nitride ceramics, etc. In 1987, he engaged Department of Inorganic Materials in Tokyo Institute of Technology as Research Associate. He became Associate Professor in 1989. He became Professor in 2009. He stayed in University of Washington from 1991 to 1992 as a Visiting Scholar. He received the 54th Award of the Ceramic Society of Japan as a title of "Development of the Electroceramics Through the Control of Liquid Phase" in 2000. He received Best Paper Award in the Journal of the Ceramic Society of Japan in 2000. He received Kiyoshi Okazaki Award in 2011.
His main research themes are oxide thin film, ceramic processing, nitride ceramics, and characterization of ceramics. He is a member of the following societies. The Ceramic Society of Japan, American Ceramic Society, Materials Research Society, The Chemical Society of Japan, The Japan Society of Applied Physics, The Crystallographic Society of Japan.
Hisao Suzuki is a Professor of Research Institute of Electronics, Graduate School of Science and Technology, and Department of Electronics and Materials Science, Shizuoka University. He obtained Bachelor (1980) and Master (1982) degrees from Nagoya University, and a Ph.D. in 1988 from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He joined the Toyota Technological Institute as a Research Associate and Associate Professor during 1980–1994, and moved to Shizuoka University as an Associate Professor. He became a Professor in 2004. His areas of research interest include new functional nanostructured ceramics such as thin films and hybrid particles, especially for electric and energy-related materials through chemical solution processing. He received Kiyoshi Okazaki Award in 2010, and many other awards.
Naoki Wakiya is a Professor of the Research Institute of Electronics, Graduate School of Science and Technology, and Department of Electronics and Materials Science, Shizuoka University. He obtained Bachelor (1989), Master (1991), and Ph.D. (1995) degrees from the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He was appointed as a Research Associate of the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1993. After moving to Shizuoka University in 2006 to work as an Associate Professor, he was promoted to Professor in 2007. His areas of research interest include new functional nanostructured ceramics such as thin films and hybrid particles, especially for electric and magnetic and materials. He received an award for advancements in ceramic science and technology in 2000 and an award for academic achievements in ceramic science and technology in 2017 from the Ceramics Society of Japan, respectively.
Te-Wei Chiu is a professor of Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Taipei University of Technology. He received a B.S. in Chemistry in 1995 from Cheng-Kong University, a M.S. in Chemistry in 1997 from Chong-Chen University, at this period he did his research on synthesis of organometallics in Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica. After two years military service in air force, He got scholarship from Japanese government and be a doctoral course student in Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. He obtained Ph. D in 2003. After holding a post-doctoral position at Tsukuba Research Center for Interdisciplinary Material Science (Shirakawa Center), University of Tsukuba, he joined National Institute of Advanced Industrial and Science Technology (AIST), Nanoelectronics Research Institute, from 2005 to 2008. He engaged Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering in Taipei University of Technology as Assistant Professor. He became Associate Professor in 2012. He was promoted to Professor in 2017. His areas of research interest include application of nanomaterials and functional oxide for energy technology such as synthesis of nanoparticles(0D), fiber(1D), thin films(2D), porous(3D), and tubular in shape.
