李望达博士2013年于哈尔滨工业大学获得工学学士学位,2018年月德克萨斯大学奥斯丁分校获得博士学位,师从ArumugamManthiram教授。李博士主要从事下一代锂离子电池正极材料高镍层状氧化物研究。已发表高水平SCI收录文章10多篇,其中包括Nat. Commun., J. Am. Soc. Chem., Chem. Soc. Rev., Adv. Energy Mater., ACS Nano, Chem. Mater.等,论文被引超过400余次,H因子10

 

报告内容简述:

In the quest for safe and low-cost cathode materials for rechargeable Li-ion batteries with desirable energy/power capabilities, high-nickel layered oxides (LiNi1-xMxO2; x < 0.5, M = Co, Mn, Al, etc.) are among the most promising candidates. However, limited cycle/calendar life especially at elevated temperatures and poor thermal-abuse tolerance are serious challenges for their practical applications. In this talk, I will discuss the fundamental understanding of electrode-electrolyte incompatibility for high-Ni LiNi1-xMxO2 with state-of-the-art nonaqueous electrolytes at deep charge during battery operation. The associated structural and mechanical degradation of the oxide cathode is another focus of attention. Finally, one corresponding strategy on electrolyte modification is introduced that enables excellent cyclability/safety of high-Ni LiNi1-xMxO2 in practical cell configurations.
