报告人简介：

Speaker Biography: In her 8-years editorial career, Dr. Rose Zhu lead and participated the launching of six international journals including the Cell Pressjournal Joule, where she served for 5 years and the first four Next Journals (NextEnergy, Next Materials, Next Nanotechnology and Next Sustainability) of Elsevieracting as the Editor in Chief. In April 2025, she moved to Hong Kong to launch the journal Watt, a partnership journal between 21C lab and SpringerNature.

Dr. Zhu obtained PHD degree in Nanyang Technological University, Singaporefollowed up by Postdoc in National University of Singapore, University of California,San Diego (United States) and University of Freiburg (Germany). Her researchexpertise lies in electrochemistry, nanomaterials, and their energy applications. Dr. Zhu has published 15+ papers as first author in energy storage and conversion areas.

Abstract: In this talk, Dr. Rose Zhu will share her 8-years career as a full-time editor and what role does she see a high impact journal should play. Along withthat, she will introduce the innovations Watt is doing to bridge academia withindustrial partners, working together towards turning science into reality. For thosewho is new to Watt, it is a journal that aims top impact, and covers energy andsustainability science from fundamental to applied, from preliminary ideas to a real solution.
